New retro short movie ‘The Summoner’ has begun filming in York and Harrogate, England this week.

A fusion of action, romance and horror with dashes of nostalgia. This is set to be your new favourite short film. “We have an incredibly talented and hardworking cast and crew working on delivering the goods. I couldn’t be happier at this stage of the filming.

There’s nothing better than seeing something you worked so hard on come to life on a beautiful smoke filled screen” says writer and director James Secker. In an alternate reality ghosts haunt every property until they are expelled. The spirits must be taken out of the haunting ground to be banished forever. This is called an eviction.

Summoners are called in to evict these unwanted guests by any means necessary.

Adam McNab (Le Cassette) plays The Summoner, a tortured soul filled with grief and a truck load of anger. “Adam has brought a vulnerability to the rage filled character. He is a fantastic actor with a great sense of timing and direction. We can’t wait for you to experience his performance” says James.

The film also stars Mhairi Calvey (Braveheart), Kate Marie Davies (Escape From Cannibal Farm) and Alexandra Hansler (Any Minute Now) in the other lead roles. The original soundtrack for the film with be released on Lazerdiscs Records later this year.

The official lineup includes: Waveshaper, Maxthor, Nightstop, Vincenzo Salvia, Moondragon, Dream Fiend, Irving Force, Hello Meteor, D.Notive and Absolute Valentine.
